Astrofest NGC253

Just got back from a week at Astrofest this afternoon. We had a great week with clear skies each night and little or no fog.

This year I used my recently purchased Meade SN10 which I bought to battle the Duckadang dew. I was very happy with how this OTA performed including the ability to image all night without dew on the primary mirror. I was also happy with how well the scope held collimation after the car trip.

Here's one from the last two nights - 45 subs (21 x 5min L and 8 x 2 min binned RGB) using the QSI683. All processed in Pixinsight!

Awesome mate. Stars look great from corner to corner.

I thought you wouldn't be home til tomorrow.

Great result Peter, you can just make out the outer halo too. Nice to have a working rig at a star party huh? I assume we will see some more Astrofest objects?...sitting back waiting mate, bring'em on

It's good to see you weren't just sleeping in your little tent.
A lovely image.

Thanks for all the comments. It's a great feeling to return from Astrofest with some nice data for a change and to have imaged through the night almost every night.

I'm just about back on day shift now and I've spent a few hours playing with PI this week. I'm starting to get the hang of some basic processing steps so it's good to have a few projects to work on. This year was such a good event all round.

Well done, that's beautiful. I'd add a little more contrast for the dust lanes, to pronounce them a bit more.
