M8 in Sii

Managed to clock 7h over two nights on the lagoon including last night. Still a little noisy in the shadows. Will post a blend later on but the Sii by itself looks pretty tight already.

Full fields are below:

I have a HD version here. [1.91MB - 1920x1437]
and a 1:1 version here [4.85MB - 3329x2491]

5min subs shot with a FSQ106N and QHY9 - Baader Sii 8nm on G11.

Thanks Russel. Almost looks like a LUM. I believe Sii highlights shock fronts ahead or behind the Ha. So it kinds of outlines them.

Got some Ha but not with the FSQ. Might get some after astrofest and Oiii too to do a HST palette.

Thanks guys. I'm still struggling to keep the noise down although the lack of moon made things easier that night. Might get into the habit of dithering again.

Hi, Marc,

For SII, that's amazingly good. Lots of detail where it should be, and looking very true - no hint of spurious SII where there shouldn't be any. Great work.

Best,
Mike

Too many stars for narrowband Marc. You're doing it all wrong. Cool image. Keen to see the end result.
