Prawn Nebula and NGC6242

Hi People,
My attempt at the Prawn. Nowhere near the quality that I would have liked but seeing has been terrible up here this year. That's when there is any sky not covered in cloud.

Anyway this was an in between object that I took the subs for over several nights after the subject of my current main project went below my horizon. I ended up with 40x300sec @ ISO800.
Thanks for looking.

I like the way you've included the little cluster at top left.
Best, Mike

Seeing has been something shocking all round, even so, you've captured it well

Thanks Mike, I framed it that way hoping to add another dimension to the shot, and also was hoping to pick up a little more of the extended nebula in between the main neb and that cluster. It's just a shame the subs were of such poor quality, which in turn made me have to push it so hard. I even tried a repro which turned out almost exactly the same as what I have shown here. Oh well, we live and learn. Next time I get a bunch of subs like this I think I will just ditch them and try again another night. lol

Thanks Collin. According to my weather App we are coming into some cool clear weather, hopefully it will hold out till after next new moon.

Thanks very much Scotty, I am still experimenting with different ways of doing things in PIS, I used the masked stretch tool on this one which generally preserves the star colours a lot better.
