GT-81 First Light - M8

Finally got around to using my GT-81 as something other than a guidescope. Turns out I really need to get that flattener in place, even with my tiny chip. Technically not the first light, but the the first time I've managed to get in focus subs with it :p

Really quick dirty process on this one as I'll probably just throw this all away after I install the flattener. This is only 3x15min Ha. Taken tonight about 10-15 degrees away from an 88% full moon... pretty happy with that actually, considering the 7.5nm bandpass I'm using.

It looks really nice as long as you don't mind the look of the "zoom" effect around the edges

Excellent details Lee, great job mate. I'm glad it's all coming together for you.

Just think of it as an intentional special effect rather than an unintentional aberration ;-)

Cheers Rex :-)

Hopefully tonight I'll be able to get some more data, preferably without the "zoom effect" ... depends how sensitive the flattener is to spacing because I've been unable to get it quite right with existing spacers/adapters.
