Roll off Roof Observatory

Hi All,

I am building a roll off roof observatory on my dark site property.

I decided to go this way because it is more cost effective than a dome and also IMHO a bit easier to use as I don't need a fully automated setup for visual only use.

Rough Specs:
-4m x 4m
-wall height of 2.1m
-Cement slab with pier
-fully insulated walls and roof
-Solar Power and LED lighting with Marine AGM Deep Cycle Batteries

My main concern is best way to seal the building against pests etc.

I am using verma seal around the wall and door bases which stops pests from infiltrating at ground level.

How are others going about sealing theirs at the roof line??

Cheers

use something like this

builders film, i am using silver wrap which forms a good barrier and keeps the equipment cool in summer time as well.

depends on your specific requirements. but that should keep you vermin free

I will be posting a video next week showing a time lapse of me building my observatory which should help. In the mean time I will post A pic of the interior when I get access to my images ( hopefully tonight)

Found one, hopefully this helps. Basically it is just stapled to the frame behind the fibre cement.
