Pelicans!

Seriously, Turd Bombers!

A while back, some local vandals went around our area putting daubs of paint stripper on people' cars parked on the street (they were caught). They got my work car (VW Passat) which is parked usually on the street. On the bonnet, and it went down to the metal.

Anyway, I got it off ASAP, sanded back and primed it a while ago. Never got around to painting it, but did so yesterday. Did a re-prime (sanded the old off), then the metallic top coat.

Left it to dry (partly shaded).

Came back to 2 large splats of you know what... one bang in the middle of the new paint...

About to go repaint it AGAIN after stripping it with thinners and sanding back and repriming AGAIN last night.

Next pelican I see get's a dried palm nut up the date with a slingshot

Colour coat went on without incident today. Rubbed it back 5 hours later, and will let it harden 3 days before it gets a clear.

Looks a perfect match, but I didn't QUITE get the levelling right in the patch - a VERY minor dip that I notice, but not sure others would. It'll do - the car is getting on...

Pelicans can do better than that.

once saw a large one drop a fair size very live carp - over a busy Adelaide street. It hit a car a few ahead of mine. within a couple of minutes, someone phoned the radio station I was listening to and the announcer put them to air - "never guess what just happened to me....a fish fell out of the sky!"

Thats nothing
We used to go camping down the coorong as scouts.
If it was pleasant you just slept in the open alongside the boats.
Never again after a flock of pelicans went over.

When we were kids we used to go camping up the Murray river near a little town called Nildottie. Dad & the others would buy their beer in long necks, and they used to drink out of those old anodised aluminium cups. You remember the ones? Well one time dad was sitting in his deck chair with his beer when Mr Percival flew over at low altitude and dropped a bomb. Right in his cup. Classic.

I've had a Flying Fox drop a ' big sloppy one ' directly in front of my vision ( windscreen) ....I mean it was disgusting ....I had no choice but to ' activate ' the wipers ' and guess what ... no fluid in the washer bottle ... what a mess ...smeared bat sh*t all over the windscreen.... I pulled into the nearest servo and threw a bucket of water over it....took me a good 5mins to clean it up..... filled up my washer bottle to

Col.....

A few weeks back while holidaying at Brunswick Heads I flew my quad copter equipped with camera out over the river. Sitting on one of the oyster platforms was a couple of Pelicans who flew off when I approached. One definitely decided my intrusion was cause for revenge. He/she flew directly over my truck and caravan and spayed what seemed like a few litres of stinking cause for concern over both. Not a drop on the vans on either side but a direct hit on mine. Hosed down and all cleaned up quickly.
