What is the measurement refering to the focal length? What is the diameter of the primary mirror?

So basically its a Celestron Edge 12 inch that is way overweight.

Just probably with better optics (which admittedly would not be too difficult )

Perhaps but who wants to spend US$33K to find out!

I doubt its got cutting edge optics otherwise that formula would've taken off in amateur astronomy. .8 strehl is Yawn! Probably good for an SCT I suppose but pathetic for anything serious. AP and TEC run at .99 strehl for APOs.

I agree - just thought it interesting. I didn't see a mention of Strehl anywhere though (are you confusing it with the multiple zoom lens thread?)
