Flame and Horsehead

Hello,
Sorry for the hiatus but I've had to reformat the main comp...

I've had a go at the Horsehead and Flame together.

Not brilliant but an ok start for me I guess, makes me want to have a dome to keep perfecting the setup and not have to move the gear over and over...

This is the result of one of my worst nights to date...whatever could go wrong went wrong:
I spent some time earlier on shooting the Helix, now that I have better drift aligned, rebalanced and LEVELLED (PS dont trust little bubble levels that come with the tripod...)
Done well but turns out the 20Da was set at Medium quality....why and how this happenned is beyond me...

then the main battery powering the scope drives died after a solid 2 day charge...I suppose my new dewzappers do eat up power like it's going out of fashion, then the laptop died cuz the connection got pulled accidentally...draining the battery

Speaking of bateries...did I mention the camera battery also died...

Ok I recharge everything and shoot the Flame and Horsehead...
4 shots into it, I'm seeing sunglow rising in the East and massive clouds coming in from the West...the two merged with Orion's belt being the last thing that could be seen in the sky..
Panic pack up and go as the rain pelted down...

but I enjoy my hobby...really I do...

Thanks
I'm a bit puzzled by the blue whisps myself and I havent completely ruled out some kind of internal reflection?
looks nice though!

Nice image, Frank! I like it. Really makes Alnitak looks bright (which of course it is compared to the HH neb!)
