AMASCO who made them & what does it stand for?

Hi there,
I have a 1991 Astro Optical Supplies "house brand"
AMASCO AT7D
D= 60mm F= 700 Refactor, F11(I think)
I'd like to find out
Q1: Who made these little gems (nameplate has AMASCO with CircleT)
Q2: What does AMASCO stand for?

Many thanks

circle T is usually TOWA, a Japanese scope manufacturer

as for amasco I think it is just like tasco -just the name given to a house brand of manufactured goods

I was always under the impression that they were named after the Amateur Astronomers Supply Company, the former trading name of Astro Optical Supplies. They were of good quality and a fair bit cheaper than their Unitron's and probably were a mixture of Towa, Carton, Tasco etc. A bit like Bintel who rebadge various telescopes from over the water.
