Corona Australis starry dust

Well, it's a fun region to take a picture of! I'm still struggling to get a really smooth background - I can't say I've got great confidence in the work of the darks and flats just yet, but equally I probably just need to take a heap more images of the region to get better smoothness in the dusty areas.

24 x 5 minutes (2 hours integration time), ISO800, EOS 60D, darks, flats and bias subtracted. 150mm f/5 Newtonian on HEQ5 pro mount, Orion mini autoguider. Stacked and processed in PixInsight and Photoshop.

Larger version of the wide field here.

Larger version of the central area here.

Excellent work !! I love the definition of the dark patch, stands out surprisingly well from the plethora of stars in the back ground.

Thanks everyone, glad you liked it! I got more of the dust than I expected, but it's still pretty grainy, had to use more noise reduction than I'd like to get it to this state.

Awesome Job Andy. This is one of my targets for this coming season. Hope it turns out half as good as yours.

Rex, with your setup, this should be an ideal object, hope you get the chance to have a crack!
