Lx90 slewing noise?

Hi guys,

My new lx90 10" arrived today and after setting it all up and powering it on I hit each of the arrow keys to test the slewing. It sounds normal when slewing left, right and up but it sounds louder and different when slewing down, it's almost like a slight clunking kinda sound?

Any ideas? I really don't want to have to send it all the way back to Sydney after waiting so long!

Thanks in advance

Hmm that doesn't sound good but without actually looking at the scope I couldn't tell you what's wrong. If I had to guess I'd say the gear teeth aren't aligned or are skipping.

My advice..........take it to a reputable telescope store and get it looked into. If it's nothing you haven't wasted much time but if they find something you could end up saving yourself a lot of money.

Cheers.

That's what I was afraid of, I might see if Sirius optics can have a look at it for me. If not I may have to have it sent back down to bintel.
