AO unit and a MMOAG

Can you attach an SX AO unit to a MMOAG and guide using that setup?

Or do you have to use the AO OAG?

Greg.

should work Greg, but a few checks with a ruler would be a good idea.

The only thing that you really need is to get the two images focused at the same time - best way is to set up the imaging camera and then adjust the guider path length so that the guide image is also in focus - standard OAG procedure. There is no required path length to the guider, just get it in focus. The manual gives you some help with that sort of setup, but obviously they would like you to buy their OAG, guide cam and main cam, which will all just fit. When I borrowed Peter's AO, I got it working OK with various combinations of 2 different OAGs and 3 different guide cams.
