NGC5139 Omega Centauri

After shipping back my CCD for some TLC last week I put the 60Da on the back of the RC8 cos I will go stir crazy if I don't do something whilst waiting for the next couple of months.

I checked all the collimation after installing a tilt ring and had a go at this gorgeous object just to make sure there were no major issues across the field. Its a smaller sensor than the STL so less grief on field curvature and as such I didnt need to crop. That was a very pleasant surprise.

Not a huge amount of data, the idea was just to check everything out so...

14 subs @ 180 sec, ISO 400.

There are a few compression artifacts on the attachment so Full Frame is NGC5139 Omega Centauri

Cheers

Great round stars to the corners. The image overall though looks dull. Omega is sparkling and bright. So perhaps some curves and levels here to liven it up may help.

Greg.

Thanks Greg. Agreed that when compared to some of the ones here its a bit flat. I will have a fiddle about tonight and see if I can give it a bit of sparkle.

Nice detail David. I gave the saturation a small push in PixInsight's CurveTransformation and it really spiked it up nicely.

Beautiful stars Dave and excellent for a quickie. I agree with Greg and maybe with more data a brighter core with a sparkle factor boost will be in order

Cheers Gents. Will hold on getting extra data for now, but played with PI Curves to give it a lift. Thanks for the feedback
