Check out the ISS

Tonight at 6:20pm the ISS and shuttle will pass over.
Check out the sighting's data against the tracking.
They are opposite to each other.
How wierd.

Wow, what a sight.
The Iss with the shuttle trailing it.
It actually came out of the NW heading SSW.
I haven't read anything about the shuttle undocking today.

I hope someone got a shot of it.

Thats a sight we don't get an eyeball on everyday.

Just checked out the NASA site, yes it has undocked, so that was a rare unaided eye sighting.

I have never seen the shuttle in orbit before tonight. I'm Chuffed.

We had two passes here tonight, but I missed the first, which was in semi daylight (about 1830 local time).
The second was at about 2024, and it was an impressive sight, very impressive. One trailing the other, and at a respectable altitude. No pictures from me, but the local NZ Astronomers group had one.
Takes me back to watching the last pass of MIR.

It was an awesome sight indeed.
My sons called me out to show me the bright ISS.
Then one said "what's that behind it dad?" and I realised it was the shuttle.

Wish I had known before hand and get some snaps !!!

It's on again tomorrow night too - not as bright though, but still respectable (ISS Mag 0.6) - from Newcastle anyway....
