Testing tracking - M8 and NGC55

A couple of images from 13/9 -have only just been able to process them - work really is a pain in the ar$3 sometimes. I tried out the high pass technique on M8 (overdid it I think) and did not have enough exposure time on NGC55, still I think my tracking problems are (mostly) sorted out.

Nice images there John.

Like NGC55 with its off centre nucleus.

I hope Asimov doesn't see your Lagoon, coz I had a big argurement with him the other week saying there is not any blue in it only reds and pinks. If he sees this he will kill me. O well, just in case its been nice knowing you chaps.

Hmm, depends on your POV I suppose - the modded DSLRs show the Ha emission light (which mk1 eyeball cannot percieve) and show it as red - and its signal will swamp the blue reflection signal which really is there. The unmodded DSLR is set up to render things as the you would see them if you were close enough - or had a big enough scope to show the colours - hence gives you a more "realistic" colour rendition of the object.

Flack shields up!

PS I would have a modded, cooled DSLR if I could afford it. Tony - you must have your eye on someting better by now ...
