Made up a brand new Deep cycle battery pack it has a voltage test button and also come with an 6AH 3 stage charger, battery is very high quality 80AH put in a battery box that has 2 cigarete lighter fittings to the box...great power supply for those out in the field. Total cost to me was $300 will sell for $200 which is just the cost of the battery....2 months old used once."SOLD"
I got Star Optics to fit a solid stainless steel extension bar instead of the flimsy mild steel they currently use..it is also 4" longer so less weight is needed.
Also there is an extra weight seen in pic as you only get 2 weights standard...not even enough to put a SCT ontop.
All thats left is the 8" F4 Scmit newt with upgraded focuser with 10/1 microfocus...come with Rigel and solid tube rings..will also throw in a very solid modified dovetail plate for the EQ5 and EQ6 mounts.
Baader MPCC used once perfect for the above scope..screws directly into the Camera T ring.
Losmandy camera adapapter...perfect foundation for use with camera lenses sitting on a losmandy dovetail plate.
Yep I will keep it short but somehow I feal you already know the answer but I will play along....sharper images and less coma then a standard Newtonian Steve.
Tony, I honestly had no clue about the practical differences between the two designs. Sounds like it might be a nice upgrade for Eric! (I'd buy it but then I'd have to chop it up and turn it into a truss Dob, and I'm not sure it would like that. )
Sorry Tony, the camera mount was of secondary interest. I've purchased a Musky 90mm to use as a guide scope on top of my ED80, only to find mounting is a issue,100mm mount rings dont fit as the ouside diameter of the tube is 102mm, so seaching for a solution and thought Losmandy mount rings (130mm)might work if there is some way to attach to the ED80. Thanks any way
Graeme (we meet at Ron Knights last dark weekend)
