Very nice..... Does it impose a restriction on the lowest altitude you can point to??

Nice setup there Phil, so much easier to walk out and start observing without having to setup.
I used the Losmandy MA instead of using the tripod head, use the G-11 tripod for the GM-8 now.
Cheers

Hi Phil
Looks fantastic - just what I'm after right now. I take it that it's a ATS Sirius 2.3?
How long did it take for them to deliver after you placed your order at ATS? Were there any delivery complications?
Cheers
Chris

Took about 6weeks and the delivery was $440 from Brisbane to Rockhamton and it is a Sirius 2.3m dome.

Yes it is good to walk outside noing that everything is set up and ready to go and if the cloulds came in you just close the roof am go inside for a cupper.

Beautiful looking observatory.
I need to build one on my roof to get out of the way of trees and such!

Phil - dome looks fantastic from the street. I will get in touch soon to catch up again - have been really slack on the night sky front - shown the moon off to kids at school and Butterfly Cluster to my parents, but no serious observing further afield than the backyard.

That looks seriously nice, I'm close to finishing my home made lab - looks nowhere near the professional finish of the Sirius dome. Still for $1,200 in parts to make the same size dome I'm not surprised how challenging it is to make a hemispherical (or in my case hyperbolic spheroid - to keep under the 3m zoning requirements).
Are you intending to motorise the dome, and if so with which hardware?
