Atik One Mono CCD and USB Hub

Hi All, very green with astrophotography... Has any one used a Atik one 6.0 mono package..it has Sony ICX694AL Mono CCD camera, Off Axis Guider, GP mono Guide camera and 5 position filter wheel. The problem is I keep losing the connection to GP camera which it locks up the GP. I'm using Atik's Capture software to run both camera's. Just wondering if I should just use separate USB cables back to the laptop.

cheers,

Peter

Hi Peter,

You have a nice camera

Although I run a different set-up, I would recommend trying a powered usb hub for connecting several pierces of equipment via USB. I am also going to investigate whether clipping ferrite magnets onto the cords helps with the quality of data coming from guide camera.

thanks ...I was thinking of dropping using the CCD's hub and just get a 12v one. Can you get 12v USB hubs off the shelf or are they specialty from Telescope shops (Bintel etc).

I use this one for connecting the camera, guide camera, filter wheel and the mount to the computer:
