Screw marks

Not that I am planning on selling my diagonal any time soon but it has screw marks from the retaining screw. Will this marking effect the re-sell price? I have ordered a female end piece with a brass compression ring to prevent a repetition of the damage, I am however a little concerned as the damaged diagonal is of course my most expensive diagonal.

If it's a damn good diagonal you are not going to be selling it. Stuff that gets marks is not 'damaged' just used. Dropped and broken is damaged.
Brass compression rings are good though.

Personally I just use my stuff, resell value is not my concern. I take care of it but it is there to be used. Otherwise why have it.

Brilliant! It's a huge relief that normal useage definitions, includes screw marks. I purchased a Meade Micro Focuser for my LX90 8", installing the Micro-Focuser removed a compression ring from my imaging train, hence the damage. It will not happen again!
