Working on a large mosaic of this area with the recent excellent transparency conditions. Here are two test segments from a 4 segment mosaic in the works. Proline 16803 with FSQ in Coonabarabran. Cheers.
Wow, that is stunning John. I did a 9 segment mosaic of this area with an FSQ once. A rare 2 weeks of clear weather made it possible.
Greg.
Hi Greg,
Do you have that posted someplace? Any web search on Rho pulls up hundreds of images - all different color hues, balances and interpretations of the region. No two alike. Kind of like everything with astrophotography. I think I'll end up with more than 4 segments. ;-)
Nowhere near as good as yours. Stitching errors as well. Perhaps I should do a repro as I have improved my stitching skills since then.I also used the reducer. Its 11 panels so you're in for a job here! Without the reducer that will be more like 15 panels.
Thanks gents. One has to be careful about the saturation. This rendition had a bit more than my originals from a pure experimentation point of view. Weather has gone bad and the moon will now interfere with the remaining segments and channels to be completed. When I get all those, it will be a process to re-do it all. BTW, off-axis ghost reflections are prominent with the Baader Green and Blue filters, evident in the image. To fix the Antares reflection, I'll run an exposure with Antares centered In the field and layer that into the mosaic.
Brilliant Image there indeed John the target always reminds me of a smouldering flame, though this image looks more like a fiery volcano burst
Simple Awesome capturing and processing - Top Class stuff -
Hi everyone. Chiming in late, but I do appreciate all the kind comments on this work because when it comes to color I'm just venturing into the shallow end. What better object to experiment with than RHO.
