Goto Eq Mount

Quick question
I have a SW80/400 refractor which is my travel scope. It currently sits on a Alt Az-3 mount. Is it worth purchasing a SWEQ 5 pro goto mount and use this for Astro Photography using my Nikon D5100. ( I have all the accessories needed)
I'm thinking that this may be better than my 10 inch Dob for astro photography.
I can Buy one at bintel

I'm thinking that down the track I would like to pick up a reasonable Refractor similar to this http://www.bintel.com.au/Telescopes/...oductview.aspx

Am I on the right track here?
Thanks

i'd try and get the HEQ5 over the EQ5 it will have more longevity for you especially if you considering upgrading the refractor.

you could even have the refractor and camera going at the same time http://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/...ght-Shaft.html

goto dob is good for ~25 seconds and you can do plenty on the bright object https://www.flickr.com/photos/803366...ream/lightbox/
(eg with my 12" goto)

maybe keep your eye on the classifieds - see below... for between the cost of an EQ5 and a HEQ5, a NEQ6 second hand is achievable ...

Best of luck
