These were complicated runs both in the actual imaging and the processing. 23/3/15 was i feel good seeing, but by 8.30pm dew was a massive problem. Humidity was high after all the rain the previous day. Nonetheless i pushed things further and started imaging early on to try and image the GRS before it rotated out of view. I also decided to try a 4 sequence composite (Infrared longpass/Green/Blue) which worked out excellent, instead of 3 sequences. Total frames was about 5000 for each channel. Very pleased with the detail i could get on a perfectly collimated EdgeHD 925. Best image i have taken to date.
The 24/3/15 was my first go at imaging a transit with filters. I had a very bad wind to contend with and seeing wasnt quite as good as the previous night. As a result i lost a whole RGB set for the transit start and a blue set about 50 minutes later. THe images are 50 minutes apart. WinJUPOS and wavelets destroyed the moons but i could see the detail on ganymede, so instead stacked them manually, which worked brilliantly and got exposure and colour much more accurate than after being fed through Registax and Winjupos. I then used PS to create a composite of jupiter and the separately processed moons. I think with good seeing i could get better resolving of Osiris and Galileo Regio on ganymede, but nonetheless they are quite readily visible

. Was hoping for less wind during the transit though! Ah well another one this week, will see if clouds cooperate. Seeing was horrible today so went back to the moon at f/10 with the dslr, turned out real nice. processing tomorrow.
