Where to buy a green laser pointer

I'm searching for a shop that can sell a green laser pointer and it seems local shops are sold out or unable to sell them. These things are becoming harder to get now with the laws coming into effect. Does anyone have any suggestions on Australian shops that still have them in stock? Looking for something around the 10-20mw range.
Ebay and Hong Kong seem to have plenty of cheapies but I was hoping for something that might last a few years.

Any suggestions?

Rod

Don't try to order from overseas. Customs will detect and confiscate. Seems to take a fair effort to get prior permission to import.

Obviously you should acquaint yourself with your local laws on laser pointers and abide by them.

And read up on safe usage and abide by guidelines. Safest approach is that you never hand it to anyone else.

Rod - our society is based in NSW, but here's our official laser policy. It's a good all-round guideline:

Unless you can purchase one in OZ, forget it.
I've just had a new member call me last night in tears that she had bought a GLP on ebay from HK.
She had just received a nasty letter from Customs promising fines and a possibility of jail!!
She was unaware of the laws that were put in place recently by the federal & State ( NSW) governments.
If you purchase one locally, I would advise that you join a local astro society.
This will give you the umbrella of protection that you are using it as an aid to your hobby (allowed under the law (NSW)
Of course, if you use it unlawfully all that goes out the window.

Interesting reading about these.

What would be the best colour to mount on a Telescope for aiming the Scope?????
I have 3 Telescopes but only want to mount on 2, so I am not looking for a slim, small, Laser, but something cheap enough and Bulky enough that CAN be mounted on a Reflector Scope, and also on a Refractor.....
Also a good place to buy from..... I am in Newcastle

Thanks

Yes I agree, I have heard a few horror stories about purchasing the laser pointers only to have the police turn up on the door step confiscating and threatening prosecution. Certainly being a member of a local Astronomy club helps and allows exemptions after fulfilling some criteria with registering your laser pointer and understanding where and when you can use it. In South Australia, ASSA has a policy on these and you can register your laser after reading a set of guidelines.

The issue is then when and where you use the laser and it seems to me the most logical place is where the astronomy club holds meetings. Outside of that is harder to prove lawful use.
