Harbour Bridge (day and night) shots

Hi all.

It's been ages since i've been out with the camera, pleased to be able to post some shots again. These shots were taken back on the 6th August from Sydney Observatory, when I went to the opening of the David Malin Awards Roadshow at the observatory.

Only just got around to processing them..

All taken with the 350D + 18-55mm lens, mounted on the old tripod.

1) Bridge at dusk
2) 5-image panorama of the bridge at dusk. Panorama created in Autostitch.
3) Bridge at night
4) 2-image panorama of the bridge at night. Panorama created in PS CS2 PhotoMerge utility.

Autostitch is just amazing.. I tried using PhotoMerge on the 5-image panorama, and it did a terrible job of blending the joins. Autostitch (while taking longer) was seamless and the end result is much better. The original pano is over 7000px wide.. these web versions are reduced to 1200px wide.

Very little processing on these in RawShooterPremium followed by resizing/sharpening in Photoshop.

Thanks for looking.

Mike, they are really excellent shots. What did you use to create the mattes or frames for the 2 bridge shots?

Regards,

Mike

Thanks Mike!

I just used photoshop. Just go image->canvas size, and increase it by 50 pixels in both directions.

Then just use the select tool and drag a box where you want the line/frame, and go edit->stroke, and select colour and width.

Hope that helps!
