Really desperate to use that new scope so I managed to image last night above Crux in a hole in the clouds that stayed relatively clear until midnight. I wanted to do the HH in Orion but that part of the sky stayed clouded all the time. So 14x 5min. This is hydrogen alpha with a QHY9/FSQ at prime focus. Little noisy in the dark bits but still pretty happy with the results. Still having teething issues with the mechanical arrangement for focusing so I'm convinced it's not 100%. Still bloody sharp though.
Excellent result Marc. Taking the aperture, conditions, and time pressure into account, a magnificent result. I especially like the wispy stuff toward 4 o'clock.
Ouch, I just cut myself on your High Res image - damn but those Taks are sharp - gonna have to convince the wife I need one now!Your image looks great, very 3D - looking forward to seeing this one finished with colour data

Thanks Mike. I'll probably mosaic that way, towards the cluster.

Thanks Andy. yes, love that scope. Will do color, for sure, some time in march, if it's clear.
