Witch Head

Always wanted to try this target, so pleased to be able to finally image.

As usual, I got greedy for targets and used far too low a sub length, only 2 mins by 20 at ISO3200, next time I'll be trying much longer. I keep saying that!

Great for the integration time!

You are really giving that A7s a workout.

Cheers,

Russ

Nice, Simon. Some more data and longer subs would help smooth the background and also pull out some of the small galaxies in that area.

Cheers,
Rick.

I agree with Rick (again ) but it is suitably spooky looking and viewed small it looks really great.

I'm impressed. I assumed when I looked at it you are using a KAF8300 chipped camera. That little Sony A7s looks fabulous. 20 x 2 minutes and that much detail is terrific performance.

ISO3200 may be a little conservative with that camera which I often read is quite good up to ISO52800.

Very nice and very promising. Slam it up, its got the performance there.
I suppose the cutoff is where the stars lose colour. You need some trial and error to find where that point is. It also has deep wells, even deeper than a KAI11002 chip so it could be pretty high.

Greg.,

Nice! Shows up the brownish dust a lot more than many of the shots I've seen.
