Yep - it's on in Sydney too. Here's the TV Guide blurb on it:
Quote:
Does the planet Titan, Saturn's largest moon, hold the key to life on Earth? The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft's seven-year trek across the Solar System, and its attempt to make first contact with the Earth-like moon of Titan, was launched in 1997 and was the result of a unique transatlantic cooperation between NASA and the European Space Agencies. This documentary tells the story of the descent of the Huygens probe into Titan's upper atmosphere through the eyes of the Huygens scientists, most of whom invested nearly 15 years of their life in the mission. Although Titan's chemistry is still a long way from what we see as "living" it contains a rich cocktail of organic carbon-based chemicals that are thought to be important as the precursors to life. Even Titan's topography is similar to that of Earth, with lakebeds, river channels, gullies and canyons, but there are differences too. River channels are filled with liquid methane rather than water, and the surface is not rock but solid ice covered with ice pebbles and sand. So could it be a place where alien life forms exist? Or could it one day become an alternative habitable planet to Earth?

How good was that? One of the best documentaries I've seen in ages.

You're in luck! ... well, sort of. I recorded it to HDD apart from the first ten minutes. I'll cut a DVD of the final 50 minutes for you if you like.

I saw the first 10-15 minutes then dozed off - woke up to the end credits playing, and feeling cranky with myself for sleeping. I didn't doze because it was boring, I was enjoying it greatly, but I'm in the middle of graveyard shifts.
Good old SBS usually does repeat these things now and then ... I hope they repeat this one! Damn my cursed broken DVD recorder .... Damn damn damn!

I should have the entire program on Tape, I could capture and burn to DVD or VCD if required.

It was pretty good (I thought)...a bit "dramatic" in a few places but a good view...
