Hyades and pleiades, attempt two

A second attempt of the hyades and pleiades, this time with dark frames and more subs. I stretched out the subs to 20 seconds each instead of 10 and did 100 of them instead of 60. The dark frames made a huge difference. Sorry about the small image but the compressed version looked far worse and I don't have the computer knowledge to upload images to other websites.

You don't need any special knowledge. Only create an account at www.astrobin.com. This site like large image,

To post the link of the image there, copy and paste here the adress of the adress tool bar of your brownser.

IceInSpace has limitation of file size to 200 kbytes. If you save the image as JPG with less quallity, medium for example, the image can be larger and will have less kbytes.

For sub with 20 seconds the stars are with much drift. Where you stack the photos ?
Are you using DSLR cameras, like Canon ? If yes, did you activated the mirror lock up ? For few seconds of exposition the vibration of mirror can cause drift appearance.
For long exposure this isn't so important. At least sould not be !

My Canon T3 cause an earthquake ! Some times you can see stars collision !

I always use the virtual mirror lock up features from BackyardEos.

The photos are stacked in DeepSkyStacker. Yes, I am using a DSLR camera, mirror lock up wasn't activated unless it is activated by default. The camera was on a simple, non tracking tripod.
