Shuttle Atlantis delayed until Sep 6/7/8

Thanks to Hurricane Ernesto, the launch has been delayed. However they're leaving the shuttle at the launch pad to ride it out, as the winds are not expected to be as severe due to the changing course of Ernesto.

Possible launch dates are Sep 6, 7 or 8.

Full story, plus an amazing picture, here: http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/sh...ain/index.html

Imagine driving along that road and seeing the shuttle like that, what an amazing sight.

A decision is going to be made today about whether it will be launched tomorrow.

Imagine being in one at take off, I could think of nothing better.
I have alway noticed that when the shuttle astronaut are interviewed and the question of what was the take off like comes up the eyes widen and a smile breaks out.
It must be one of the all time adrenalin rushes

Cheers
