DSLR Modding, looking for a tech to do it (sydney)

I was wondering if anyone knew a digital camera go-to place for modding DSLR's to take out the UV/IR filter? I have a Nikon D90 that I'm planning to use just for astrophotography so I don't need a replacement glass to keep autofocus.

I was just planning on taking it to a regular camera repair shop and asking them to do it but I figured I'd ask here first just in cause anyone had any other suggestions/ advice.

Thanks

This topic crops up on a few occasions and a common suggestion is this company in Melbourne.

Modifying a camera is not cheap, expect to pay at least $400.

Or

If you a good with your hands and technically savvy you could try to do the modification yourself.

Thanks for the info. I am actually technically capable, having done a electronic tech related job before. I'll just do it myself.

I looked that the link and they quoted $500 to do it. I would have went for it if it was between $100-150.

Guess it's decided for me.

Thanks again!

Yeah as an avionics tech I'd do it myself too. and am considering it for my 40D. $500 is just ridiculous when I have the tools and ability having repaired aircraft instruments. from what I've seen online there's nothing to justify $500.
