Dream Telescope

G'day all and a happy new year.

So, what is your dream telescope/ set-up.

The criteria is; a realistic dream scope/ect( that sounds contradictory) what I mean is something you can see yourself purchasing when all of life's essentials are bought and paid for.

So that should open up the options that may be available to us all, clear skies.

Hi Neil,

I've got two dream scopes one of which I have been lucky enough to already have purchased - Televue NP127is which is stunning visually especially with a 21mm ethos - WOW

My other dream scope would have to be a big dob (25in or bigger) running servo cat and the argo navis - I was lucky enough to have a look through a few at the SPSP but I reckon I'll have to save up for a lot of years for one of these babies

Having nailed the large dob side of things, I am also hankering after a large top line refractor.... Perhaps a 6 inch Takahashi...

....on a top of the range mount in a proper domed observatory somewhere not too far from home but far enough to be dark with a fridge full of beer and a cabinet full of single malt whiskies, with a cheery wife bringing me my pipe and slippers on cue with a smile and a wink....

I'd like a 20+ inch corrected Dall-Kirkham imaging scope once I have the time to set up a permanent obsy somewhere a lot darker than the inner suburbs of Brisbane.

Cheers,
Rick.

My 2 dreams scopes were the Takahashi Mewlon 300 and TOA150.

I now finally have both of those with the TOA150 coming into the fold late this year.

Maybe I will have to start dreaming of a large 25-30 inch SDM to complement them???

My dream telescope is relatively inconsequential... Takahashi FSQ-106N... and it is right here beside me.

The scope I dreamed of owning for years, when I finally got it, was truly perfect, but in the end didn't fit my imaging needs well enough, so got the 106N, which, as fate had it, is one of the first made and has sublime optics, easily equal the FCT

Livin' the dream

Wouldn't mind a 32" f 3.65 SDM though.

Since we're dreaming, I would like a Takahashi FS60CB but with the light gathering ability of Hubble.

Seriously considering an 200mm APM refractor for the next time I move house.

I'm pretty happy with the scopes I have now. Anything better would be ridiculously expensive. Could do with a permanent observatory though.

Realistic:

Televue Genesis: crisp and bright images for both planets and deep sky which I use mainly as a travel telescope.

Surrealistic:

A 1:100 scale model of the E-ELT which is a rather small but powerful 39cm telescope !

I got my dream telescope recently. An FSQ106. Only waited 7 years.

LOL Rod, that's my dream too!
Just swap the pipe for Cuban cigars.
All I need now is the dome.
