new laptop suggestions?

Guys,
MY Lenovo is getting old, what to replace it with? 15" , doesnt do gaming , does do a little photo retouching , stellarium, word processing nothing too drastic. Needs a largish hard drive and must be reliable (the Lenovo has been) Suggestions? (around 1K$)
Roger

Any reason NOT to get another Lenovo? They have their Boxing Day sale (ending today).

If you don't need to carry it around you could get a decent desktop for that price with plenty storage space. I never use my laptop for photo processing since I got my Dell desktop.

Look for something with and i5 CPU, at least 8gig of ram and the rest is usually optional extra. Ask to have a larger hdd put in it if the option is available. If not, get some external storage like a USB Hard drive. If you can get one that is cheap enough and has AMD or Nvidia Graphics then this is a bonus too...
