The Rosette, Christmas Wreath, plus repro.

Hi,

Always thought the Rosette looked like a Christmas wreath, so appropriate for this time of year!

This image is actually a mosaic of two panels and cropped slightly. I did the mosaic in DSS, never quite gets it right.
The upper 5th of the image is a little odd with the stars, and it needed contrast adjustment in the same area.
I'll do it in ICE next time.

8” F/4 astrograph , baader type 3 coma corrector,. HEQ Pro 5 mount, orion mini guider.
Camera.
Unmodded Cannon 1100D plus cooler box., 2 x 18 x 150 subs at ISO 6400. Stacked in Deep Sky Stacker .Processed in Photoshop Cs2..

Repro.
I've done a little more processing to bring out more contrast in the centre and more colour.

Cheers,
Justin.

nice work Justin,

I was wondering how you got such a wide fov on this, try windows live photo gallery for stitching if you can be bothered, I have found it really quite good.

very Christmas appropriate and nicely done image (as usual!)

Cheers

Thanks Russell!

Haven't tried live photo gallery for stitching, I'll have a look, usually use ICE. It's does everything automatically so easy to use.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks Rick!

Took a few renditions before it had any visual impact.

Cheers,

Justin.
