A Few new Moon Pics

Had a reasonable night before the fog came and the temp dropped to Zero.

Here are a couple of the Lunar shots I got tonight. I think they are ok.

Comments welcome.

ED80 on EQ1, Toucam Pro II 840k, each pic 120 frames stacked in Registax, processed in PhotoShop CS.
Pic 1 & 2 with 9mm Plossl and extension tube. Pic 3 & 4 Prime Focus.

Excellent Ken, nice and crisp and plenty of detail.

There is something you might want to do next time you're processing in Regitax. In image one and two there is a strip down the left and right hand side of each image that isn't quite as sharp as the center of each image. When your on the wavelet page and using your wavelets, try clicking "Do All" at the top of the page after you have applied wavelets or histostretch etc. For some strange reason sometimes Reg doesn't apply the processing to the whole image, just the center section

hi paul,
thats because kyou have to pick a larger processing area i believe. i had that problem and found by picking a bigger processing area early in the registax use it would do the entire image.

I like the subtle colours in teh first one ken!
nice and sharp too

You're right ving, however the larger the processing area the much longer the processing time. I guess it's a preference thing. I don't know if selecting a larger area produces a better alignment, so I tend to select a 64 or 128 size alignment box, get a faster alignment time and then just click "Do All" in the wavelets.

OK, I have redone the 1st 2 pics in Registax and used the 'Do All' button.

Yep, took the fuzzy edges away

Thanks Paul.

That second shot is a ripper Ken. You can almost see the curvature of the moon.

Cool, thanks all.

In that case I'll keep at it. Too foggy tonight though. I'll see what the weather is like tomorrow night.
