It's in beaconsfield so you wouldn't be getting to play with the toys.

also $25,000 appears to be considerably below minimum wage

Pretty sure that its an all-in type of company, so there would be fun time on the mountain.

Also, they are asking for a junior, that is not really me, other end of the job scale. So, the money's not the important bit also.

I did apply , and growing old waiting for a reply....8)

rgds, Alan.

I can confirm this is for a junior position, as the owner is not convinced that such person with all the skills required exists in the state of Victoria. I'm sure he is happy to be proven wrong.

It pays award rates. Award rates depend on ones education and experience.
25k is above award if your 18 years of age with no tertiary education.

Having 3+ year degree, pay scales change greatly. e.g. you can read the award online. If you have the skill, exp and know how it will pay more. The advert did also state that this could be a 6 figure job for the right person.

Expect 12-18 months of training before you come up to 'speed' and start becoming productive in terms of business outcomes.

Position is based in Vic, the owner wants to be close to said person for training. I also know if a candidate is exceptional he would consider the person being in another state.

I can confirm its an 'all in job', this is not a boxed job roll, it requires many skills and the ability to manage many projects.

Job includes daily hands on operation of about 25+ telescopes.
Includes regular visits to Siding Spring and will be hands on with systems like a CDK700. You also get to establish working relationships other people at SSO.

Also, I can confirm that 100's of applications have been received. Also confirm that the owner wants to see candidates respond to the minimum requirements in a covering letter, otherwise the application get put into the bin. If you can't follow simple job application instruction how are you going to manage a complex telescope system.

I can confirm the job is still open and will be open to mid Dec.

Also suggest anyone applying from IIS or someone who has a great deal of astro exp drop the owner an email hr@itelescope.net and make them aware of your application.
