The long wait ahead!

Well finally I found some more time to finish my scope, all parts are completed and I have stripped the scope for painting.

I am very pleased with how the scope moves around on the teflon/ebony star, with barely one finger needed. It is very "buttery smooth".

All in all I am very happy with how it has turned out, however there is still a long wait to proper "first light".

Since I plan to use the scope for many years, it makes sense to finish it as best as I can ie. 3 coats stain
2 coats danish oil
3-4 coats lacquer

The lacquer is what takes the longest to dry so it will still be a long time before I can actually use the scope.

The 2 pics here were taken today after the 3rd coat of stain.
