Free My Mirror Please

I want to have this mirror re-silvered, and an IIS member will do it for me.
It's from a Vixen VMC110L and it seems Vixen use some kind of adhesive or sealant when they put the two pieces together that hold the mirror and make up the baffle thru to the ep. You can see it in the picture.
It is impossible to unscrew the two halves apart and I wonder if any one here can tell me what it is and what might be the ideal solvent to use (acetone doesn't soften it).
Vixen refuse to tell me saying it will void warranty, tho I told them it was S/H and had no warranty, so they are totally unhelpful.
Any help appreciated.

It is possibly an epoxy resin, it may soften with a paint stripper but it require extreme care so as not to damage the mirror.

Epoxy will fail with heat as a last resort, you could try a soldering iron to see but stay off the glass. If that has the desired effect, ensure that you heat the whole thing evenly over a reasonable period with a slow ramp up & down. Maybe a commercial oven.

Best of luck
