More detail with NGC 253

After seeing all the nice NGC 253 versions posted here I had another look at mine to see if I could squeeze out more detail. I've found that wavelet processing in Pixinsight works well with this.

Cheers

Steve

Thanks Rick. Any more sharpening and it would look too harsh I guess. May be close to that now.

Thanks Louie. I guess the difference is subtle. I believe this version shows the fainter small scale detail better.

Don't know Steve. More detail? - probably. Better? not sure, I personally don't like any overly digital image and PI images unless expertly used get these over contrast type looks which to my eye, are a step backwards.

A bit like the DSLR crowd who don't like an overly digital look and want a more organic look to their images type viewpoint.

The latest software tends to pull out every little contrast at the expense of naturalness. Its a look, just like pink and blue hair is, just not for me (I'm bald anyway hehehe).

Greg.

Yeah - point taken Greg. I tried to maintain a natural look but I think I may have pushed it too far. Anyway the original image was just a test so maybe I should have left it at that.

Thanks Ross. I'm starting to think I might have pushed it just a bit too hard though.
