ROR open or slit?

I have a roll off split roof observatory, so i can open wide or just leave a narrow aperture for the scope to peer through. So what are the advantages and disadvantages of the two options? Does a narrow opening cut down dew formation? Is a narrow opening likely to have worse seeing because of air currents swirling through it due to body and equipment heating. Or doesn't any of this matter?

I have a similar setup but it's a small tin shed and 'inside' temp is pretty much the same as outside temp so I have not seen a problem with air currents. I does seem to help with dew a little although I run a heater on the scope body but it does help keep the rest of the Ob drier.
I'm normally bundled up and sitting over by the PC desk but if there was any body heat issues I doubt that you would even notice it.
