Help with DBK 21AU04.AS software

I was given a DBK 21AU04.AS camera by an IIS member who no longer has the software to run it.
Does anyone know where I can get this software, either for a fee or for free ?

I have tried to download some drivers and operating software, but none of it seems to install correctly and does not open to enable any usage.
Maybe someone knows of some easy to install and use software for this camera.
I would just like to see how it goes with planetary images.

Any help would be appreciated.

The drivers and IC imaging software are available for download from the imaging source website.

Thanks Ken,
Any idea which download I need.
BTW I did try some of these but they wont open for me to use.
It appears they go thru the install process OK, but the programs don't open up for use.
Maybe I installed the wrong ones ?
Which one is recommended.
Cheers

I'm not at home, but it's usually only the IC Capture program installed as Administrator.....

You need to install the usb drivers
Then you install ic capture
Make sure the camera is connected when you install the drivers

Nik,
I'm pretty sure the TIS cameras use the native windows webcam drivers and only need the IC Capture software.

Gday Ken

I just was playing with my DMK41 yesterday and the IS camera loads 2 types of driver for access, WDM and UVC.
Can get confusing which one to use at times, as both types appear in the control dialogs, and behave slightly differently. I suspect the IS specific driver has a bit more control over long exposures etc.

The WMD is the windows drivers for USB 1/2 the other is for the "new" USB3 cameras.

UVC was developed around 2003, and is just another form of low level generic Directshow Interface designed by microsoft for USB video devices.
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...=vs.85%29.aspx
It sits and runs in parallel with WDM, and has nothing to do with USB3.0.
Problem is that most applications make use of "tweaked" WDM interfaces for "programmatical" control, so it can get interesting.
Ie if i open the video control window for my DMK, i get both formats in parallel dialogs????
ie Meades LPI uses an extended ( and butchered ) format of the std WDM interface, but doesnt actually follow the rules.
No idea whats happening with the DMKs ( yet )

Gday Ken

I have no probs connecting with IC ( or any other app )
( I am using IC 2.2.345.1381 )
I was using my DMK41 with an app i wrote myself, Graphedit, PEMPro, Metaguide and PHD2 last night, but i didnt always get the results i expected, esp when framerates vs exposure settings got changed.
Ie most apps expose the std dialog box, but emulate the WDM settings sothey have better control.
Using the UVC controls in the std dialog, vs the program controls in the apps appeared to have some funny results, but nothing that stopped the camera working.

Andrew

PS In PHD2, i was also getting something funny going on that whenever i connected/detected the camera, it was resetting my pixel sizes to 1.0u, but i cant replicate it today. The camera worked, just the abs values for plotting sdont work

I have downloaded the driver for the cable and camera but still nothing opens for me to use? Sorry, but I am not as high tech as most here, and I cannot understand all the talk about generic direct show interfaces and
WDM's etc.
Thanks for trying to help me, I may try and get a disk from someone that will load all the necessary stuff properly into my PC.

Gday Geoff

Forget all the high tech stuff, if the driver has loaded correctly, then many apps should be able to "see" the camera, even if they dont show any piccies yet.
Can you get a camera selection dropdown to at least see the camera???
What apps are you using to try and connect to the camera?

Andrew
