I don't know what your budget is John but Astro Shop (
http://myastroshop.com.au/) has the SkyWatcher Black Diamond 150mm f/8 refractor OTA on special at the moment for $699. I bought one and am very impressed with its build quality and performance (bit of purple on the bright stars & planets but otherwise sharp and and bright on star fields) for the price and I own a Takahashi TOA-130NFB at ten times the price. You can always sell off the finderscope, rings and EP's to reduce the cost if you don't need them. No connection with Astro Shop by the way but Steve is great to deal with.
