great deal on Dob + EPs in Melbourne

I spotted this yesterday on ebay. 8" f/5 Dob in new cond, 2 plossls and an LVW 3.5mm EP; $450. If genuine, it would be a very good deal at the starting price. The LVW EP alone is worth over $300 new (although it is not very well suited to the scope; too much power in all but best seeing).

I had one of these as my first scope (since I was a kid that is).

Its a nicely convenient and portable dob. The primary mirror had a fair amount of undercorrection but the images seemed ok.

The starting price is good , but I wouldnt pay much more unless you have another use for a 3.5mm LVW.

Interestingly he didnt get a bid on the last auction and it has been relisted as being brand new.

It was the LVW that caught my eye initially, which is worth about as much as the scope. Calling the scope new is sus, since f/5 8" Dobs have not been sold for years afaik.

Geoff, weren't you after one of those 10mm silver-top plossls? Maybe offer them a few quid for it.
