Took this last summer when I was setting up my neq6p
.It's a single exposure about five mins.
my question is, is this colour a mistake on my part in stretching or is it the right colour?

Looks about right for an unmodified DSLR. With a modified DSLR or an astro camera you'll get a lot more pink/magenta from the Ha.

I think your white balance is off Jen. Despite being an unmodded camera, you should definitely see more pink stuff in the image.
If you've captured in raw, you will be able to change your WB in DPP.
