Red Rooster

IC2944, another one that's been sitting on the hard drive since June waiting for me to get around to it. This was taken on 3 nights June 28, 29, 30 not long after I got my "new" second hand Pentax K-5. I used a different filter every night, an Astronomik CLS, Lumicon Deep Sky and a Baader Semi-Apo. Then I combined the lot and ended up with this. Taken unguided with 1 minute subs for just over a total of 2 hours. Skywatcher ED100 @ F7.2, Pentax K-5, HEQ5 pro.

Thanks Rex. The cooler temps of June helped. I won't get this in summer!

Thanks Elio. The K-5 is standard unmodified. The filters I used help bring out the Ha, but they can also create some funky colours. The Baader filter produces the most natural colour, but also brings out the least Ha. It's all a trade off somewhere.

Thanks Rick. Processed this late at night and under those conditions I can do weird things lol. Glad it turned out okay.

Love it Kevin!

Very good running chicken, might be a little smooth.
Just loosing a bit of detail in the nebula.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks Justin. I think it needs more time. But too late in the year now. Have to wait until next cycle.
