New Horizons craft

Im really looking forward to seeing some detailed images of pluto. New Horizons will be at its closest approach in 374 days time.

It won't be too long before its images of Pluto exceed the resolution/quality of those from HST (around 1 Jan 2015, in fact: http://www.planetary.org/blogs/emily...er-hubble.html). At that point, the fun really begins!

Very exciting! Hopefully the Pluto fly-by will be an all-objectives success and that they can they can make it to one or two more Kuiper Belt objects. Looking forward to those high-res images of Plutos surface...

Very pumped indeed. For those interested, below is a link to the ABC TV's "Voyage to the planets" documentary - Episode 6: Pluto and Beyond. This was aired back in 2010 but still brilliant.

There's nice coverage of the New Horizons mission in it.
