The Helix.

Hi,

The start of another image.
This time I'm trying to process for detail in the Helix nebula, I'll get more data later to get the fainter stuff.

On my previous efforts I killed the finer detail.

Unmodded canon 1100D, baader type III coma corrector.

25 x 5 minute subs, ISO 1600.
Stacked in DSS, processed in PS7 and Cs2.

Cheers,

Justin.

That's a nice Helix Justin. You have some of the outer loop and the core looks great.

It's on my to do list......

Quite a respectable Helix, Justin! It would be interesting to see a deeper version if you get the time.

Thanks Rick!

Yep plan to get more data, gradually creeping along with most of my projects. I have 5 hours on M83 and 3hours on NGC 6595, just need to process them.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks Greg!

When I get more data hope to show more detail in the eye, don't expect to get too much more of the faint outer loop with an unmodded DSLR.

Cheers,

Justin.

Thanks David!

Hope to get another 2 hours data tonight.
I like doing progressive images to see what difference the data makes.

Cheers,

Justin.
