Just a note to let you all know I am still alive and well but exceptionally busy at work.
I was recently promoted and while that makes me quite proud, it has wrecked my observation time...I have not made much use of our warm weather to observe as my work travel schedule has become crazy...with luck things will settle down and I will be able to see the night sky again through a scope instead of an airplane window...
Keeping a positive outlook, I guess this just puts me closer to retirement and full time viewing (as weather permits)...heck, I might even get a chance to move back to Australia!
At least I can live vicariously through your posts in the airport lounge!
Hi there Scott
Congratulations on your promotion that is wonderful news.
Looks like they won't let you escape but isn't it nice to know someone values your ability.
I suppose Lindfield is but a distant memory for you now as you have been gone a fair while now.
But honestly you must get some observing time in somehow.
With all your wonderful gear you probably overlook the good old binos ...do yourself a favour and at least take a look around even if only for half an hour..make sure it is all still there...but as you will agree a little time star gazing is good for one .
Just a quick scan a cup of coffee and a few moments to reflect is all it takes
All the best managing your increasing responsibilities.
Best wishes alex
Thanks Alex, I have been able to help with a few volunteer nights and that has been good for the soul...just not much time for long hours of observation.
We think of Roseville/Lindfield often and while it is really nice here, it is not Australia...
