NGC6164 CDK data added

I did this image using my TEC180 fluorite. Its often imaged with RCs and CDKs so the core was lacking a little in detail compared to other images on the net taken with larger scopes.

I took some narrowband data of this last night with the CDK. The first couple of hours was rubbish data and to my surprise when I checked the subs this morning the seeing improved remarkably at around 11pm. So I had some quite nice data.

I added this to the centre ejecta nebula to give it more detail so the image is not massively different but it now has decent detail in the centre nebula.

Thanks Rick. I was happy with the O111. My dark site is good for those sorts of dim things.

Lovely Greg.

Do post a shot of the TEC180 one day - I'd love to see it. I kind of have the fluorite affliction too

Yes Fluorite is a wonderful lens material.

An older photo of it:

Its about as big a refractor as you would want to handle. Heavy-ish but handleable.

I suppose a 200 would be OK. I see Yuri is taking orders now for a 250mm of some newish Russian design. Only $46,000 or so!

Thanks Allan. Yes I do. The AP140 is beautiful as well. Its sometimes hard to chose which one to use.
Better to use one for a while as they all have their own adapters etc.
