Striker is Blushing

I just received an email as below....I am bit shocked but also excited.

Hi Tony,

My name is Chris Drysdale. I am a Creative Director/Writer at Meade Instruments. We are working on a new 2006-2007 catalog and your LX200R Trifud nebula shot has been selected to fill a full page in the catalog. It is very nice.

We are very nearly ready to go to press (I am on a very tight deadline), but in the catalog, wherever we use a full-page image in an astrophotograph gallery, we also include a quote from the photographer.

75% of the thanks goes to you guys otherwise this simply would not of happened....boy I have learnt alot off you guys over the past 12 months.

Its in regards to this image....

That's fantastic Tony Congratulation. How did they hear about you image? You must have some secret admirers (read groupies) somewhere.

The quote is in relation to the LX200R and why I purchased this particular scope.

Thanks Guys....like I said I am bit shocked..I only think I got this opportunity because it's a new scope meaning less applicants.

Wow, congrats! It is a brilliant shot! If I were you I wouldn't give the image to Meade for nothing though. They are a big company who put a lot of effort and money into advertising. Make them pay!

Tony's Quote:

"I bought my Meade LX200GPS because I knew it would be good purely because Meade make such good products. I wouldn't have been able to get such a terrific image of Trifid without the Celestron Guidescope piggy-backed onto it."

Haha Ken...but it's the New LX200R not the LX200GPS.

Steve I dont think I am anywhere near the quality and professionalism to even attempt asking for a payment...its all for the fun of it.

Remember Ken, this is Striker we're talking about here. The LX200GPS is about 6 scopes ago for Tony

Hey Tony

I once had a mountaineering photo published in a catalogue for mountaineering equipment. The photo was of the manufacturer’s tent with my mates, at 14,000ft in the Alps, above a sea of cloud with a beautiful setting sun. Blow me down, but a few weeks later, they sent me another tent, unsolicited and free! The value was around the equivalent of $800.

Cheers

Dennis

Congratulations Tony on the selection of your fine image. It seemed to me the Meade LX200R performed as advertised from day one.

An Impotant announcement

Bovine, Cowifornia,
Meate Instruments, USA

Tony,

It is with great regret that we inform you that the company will no longer be trading as from Monday. We thank you for your offshore bank account payment and we should be reviewing your wonderful image from the Cayman Islands on Tuesday.

Signed
Iva Bigun
Research and Development Manager
Meate Instruments Corporation

Seriously Tony that is truely a fantastic effort and result. Us Southern Folk can certainly match it and better those northerners
