Two Panel SMC Mosaic

In spite of the weather I have managed to collect two panels of a six panel mosaic of the SMC.

I think I am getting closer to optimising data collection and processing. I could be deluded.

Hi Bert,
it's looking good.
I wonder if the black point is too low?
It seems pitch black dark to me.

cheers

Allan the advantage of very high signal to noise is that one can throw away a bit of signal to not have the embarrassment of fudging a background that is noise posing as signal.

If you like I can put up a 16bit crop to play with. Here 29MB

Thanks Bert,
I had a look at your 29 Mbyte file &
I couldn't find anything that I'd change.
The darkest point is reaching 23 on the curves adjustment
which seems perfect to me.

cheers
Allan
